Following Jesus Together
February 18 is the first Sunday in Lent this year. A fixture on the Christian Church calendar since the 4th century, Lent is a 40-day season (not counting Sundays) of preparation and repentance for Christians that culminates with celebrating our risen Lord on Resurrection Sunday.
Prayer for Lent: Holy Spirit, please grant your people the courage to live in solidarity with Christ’s sufferings as we follow in his footsteps and discover the healing and joy offered to us. Empower us to demonstrate the radical love of Jesus in a world that deeply needs him. Grant us the grace required to repent and humbly follow Jesus. Amen.
